Welcome to Peter Turner Images

I’m glad you found me! I love telling stories through photographs. Whether it's capturing special moments, showcasing beautiful landscapes, or revealing hidden details, I am dedicated to bringing my vision to life.

I first got interested in photography when I borrowed my brother’s Kodak Brownie to take photos on a school trip. As soon as the photos were developed and printed, I was hooked. It would be many years before I could afford to buy my own camera (I had left school and started my career), I remember saving up for several months, and I purchased a Praktica 35mm SLR, which had a 50mm fixed lens. From the moment I unboxed it, I wanted to know what all the buttons and knobs did and how they impacted the final images.

Some years later I decided that I should start to explore the other side of photography - the developing and printing of negatives. I started to read books and magazines voraciously, reading everything that showed me how my own photographic journey could improve from being able to control this process myself. Once I decided that I was going to invest in the equipment, I realized that it would be beneficial to take some college courses to help formalize my knowledge of the photographic development field.

While attending college I built a darkroom at home (purchasing all the equipment and chemicals I could afford along the way), and as I got more and more involved in the processing and development of black and white film, I decided to expand into the developing and printing of colour film and prints as well!

Over the years, and throughout my career, I never lost my love of (or interest in) photography and got to see the industry evolve and expand in fascinating ways. It was during this period that my job introduced me to Adobe Photoshop. This piqued my interest and I soon found myself learning all I could about this new and exciting software. I decided that digital photography was an avenue that I was interested in pursuing and went on to purchase my first digital camera (a Nikon D70s)  -  I was now hooked on digital photography!

I have been developing a unique way of seeing photographs, check out the Camano Effects gallery, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I created them...

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy exploring my Galleries.

I am open to receiving creative comments regarding my photography and my website. If you would like to contact me please use my email address.
